Here we have another stunning Spotted Gum drum kit from Evetts! Sonically these drums are incredible and they are flawlessly built. This kit is finished in Exotic Makassar Ebony veneer which has been expertly applied across the shells to maximum effect. The kit then underwent a pain staking finishing process requiring several coats of satin paint to create the final smooth satin finish which is flawless.
Evetts hand build their Kits in Australia. Evetts shells are generally either Spotted Gum, Jarrah or Tasmanian Blackwood though other Australian Hardwoods are available too. The unique sound of Evetts drums inherently comes from the shell. All their drum shells are pressed in-house with specially designed dry-forming cold-pressed moulds. Their expert moulding technology allows the resins to cure naturally at room temperature under consistent and even pressure. The processes at Evetts allow for the creation of the most breathtaking and remarkable sounding drum shells.
Spotted gum is currently an unusual shell for drum building, the only really other notable company who have done worked with it in the past are Brady. Spotted Gum is the hardest timber Evetts construct drums with, it is approximately 60% harder than rock maple.
This is the first kit we've had in a finish like this, the kit features black nickel hardware throughout and double tube lugs. These kits are incredibly versatile and will be perfect for a multitude of musical styles!
