Here we have a rare gem: a John Grey Autocrat drum kit from the 1950s, finished in stunning Sky Blue Diamond. These English made drums were the pride of the era, competing head-to-head with some of the most renowned brands of the time. With innovative features like die-moulded hoops, robust chunky lugs, distinctive bow tie wing nuts, and high-quality pearl wraps, the Autocrat was a drum kit ahead of its time.

This particular set remains in great condition for its age, with the wrap showing the natural fade you'd expect from a 70+ year-old vintage kit, part of its undeniable charm. The badges on the bass drum, snare, and floor tom have been lost to time, but all of the original components - hoops, internal dampeners, T-rods, and snare mechanism—are still present and in great working order. The only modification is on the floor tom, which features a World Max DSS system. In all honesty, this is a welcome upgrade that enhances the kit’s playability. The original leg brackets and floor tom legs are also included, so you’re getting the full vintage experience.

The sizes are perfect for a classic setup: 12x8 rack tom (pre-international depth), 16x16 floor tom, 20x12 bass drum, and a matching 14x5 snare.
