We’re excited to offer this Pre-Loved Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau drum kit in specially ordered bop sizes and an eye-catching Black Sparkle Sunburst finish. Crafted at Yamaha’s renowned Japan facility, this kit features the sought-after Sakae-built thin Maple shells and the revolutionary Nouveau quick-release lugs, which laid the foundation for the current quick-release lugs found on Yamaha’s PHX and Hybrid series. The Black Sparkle Sunburst finish is even more impressive in person, truly standing out visually.

The Yamaha Absolute series, which succeeded the iconic Maple Custom line, boasts 100% maple shells—6-ply, 6mm toms and 7-ply, 7mm bass drums—delivering a warm yet powerful sound with excellent projection. This kit excels both in the studio and for live performances, providing rich, resonant tones. It represents the pinnacle of Yamaha’s Japanese production, as this series was discontinued after Yamaha and Sakae parted ways. Today, the newer Absolute Hybrid series, produced at Yamaha’s Chinese facility, continues this legacy.

Notable features of this kit include Yamaha’s famous Air Seal System, ensuring perfectly round shells, upgraded Yamaha wood hoops on the toms and floor tom, adding warmth and character to the sound. The mounted tom is equipped with Y.E.S.S. II mounts, while the floor tom features Y.E.S.S. brackets, both designed to maximise resonance by minimising shell contact.

The kit was originally ordered with a Yamaha Bass Drum Lift, which the previous owner removed to allow the bass drum to sit directly on the floor. However, the factory-drilled holes and hoop cutaway are still intact, so the new owner can easily reinstall a bass drum lift if desired.

  • Condition: Pre-Loved, rated 7.5/10. The metalwork and finish are in excellent shape, with only minor cosmetic wear: light pedal rash on the bass drum hoop and minimal chips caused by bass drum claws on the bass drum hoops.
