Here we have a stunning DS Rebel Custom Shop drum set. This one comes in a special hybrid shell combination of Maple and Walnut. This is not often offered by DS meaning you will have something extremely exclusive. If you are looking for a top of the line professional kit at a great price, these really will be hard to beat! DS Drums are from Italy and are a relative newcomer to the UK market. Founded by Luca Deorsola in 1995, DS has been making drums for their home market for quite sometime and now they are venturing worldwide. The companies focus is on its Rebel Custom Shop drum kits and snares which they offer in a huge variety of shell types and finishes.

What is very exciting about DS is the incredible sound quality, look and value they deliver.

RCS Hybrid Maple / Walnut Shell

The sustain and projection of maple, combined with walnut is perfect for studio and touring artists alike. Handcrafted in the Rebel Custom Shop in Italy using a top quality Maple & Juglans Regia combination this versatile hybrid wood shell is comprised of 60% maple, with a 40% walnut and is excellent for a wide variety of musical applications. It speaks best at lower tunings for bottom end depth and growl and delivers low end tone with the classic maple top end snap with an awesome tonal range.

These drums offer an exciting new bearing edge proprietary combination that yield thrilling new sonic possibilities, R1 45 degree on toms, R2 45 degree on floor toms and R2 60 degree on bass drums. They come with the DS vintage style 2.3mm inward hoops and all 5ply proprietary configuration and Remo Ambassador Coated heads on both sides. Perfect for studio and touring artists.

Rebel Custom Shop Finishing Options

The kit we have here is finished in a very limited Aqua Hi-Gloss Lacquer over Exotic Bubble Maple, this colour is incredible.

Multi Thickness Shell Technology

All DS shells are 5 ply but the thickness changes depending on the tom size. The 10" tom has the thinnest shell, the 12" is a standard thickness shell, the 14" is a medium shell, the 16" floor tom and 22" Bass drum have the thickest shell. By having each drum shell at a different thickness the volume and resonance is far more even across the toms, this really makes a difference compared to kits that have the same shell thickness right around.
