Here we have an absolutely mint condition DW Collectors Series. This is one of the latest Hybrid Shell Maple / Mahogany Collectors sets, it was originally made to custom order in 2015 and it comes with all the latest specifications in a great selection of sizes making this perfect for all kinds of musical applications. Just imagine what you could do with this bad boy!

Maple / Mahogany Hybrid Shells

We all know DW for its famous ultra thin Maple shell but recently DW have started to offer the Collectors in some new and very welcome shell specifications. The Maple/Mahogany is a great addition to the range and has been welcomed by many drummers looking for additional warmth. The sustain and projection of maple, married with the warmer quality of mahogany is fast becoming a favourite with studio and touring artists alike. This versatile wood combo comprised of mostly maple, with a mahogany inner and outer ply, is excellent for a wide variety of musical applications.

Timbre Matched

All of these shells underwent the DW Timbre-Matching process. Utilizing a digital tuner as part of DW's patented pitch identification procedure, each of these shells is stamped on its sweet spot with the shell's relative note-value.

New Hardware Advancements

This set features the new DW True Hoops. The True Hoop is round and flat, and without the typical variations you often see around stamped holes. It even has a fully-rounded outer edge. They now come factory installed on all Custom Shop Drums. True Hoop are also gauged in graduated thicknesses to factory-match various drum sizes. Drums 8" and 10" in diameter come with 1.6mm True Hoops, while 12"-18" come with 2.3mm.

The kit also features the latest version of DW’s STM (suspension tom mount) system which allows toms to vibrate freely, allowing maximum resonance while securely holding the drum in place. Because there are no washers or grommets inhibiting the lug rod receiver, choking is reduced and the ease of tuning is improved. The latest STM offers DW's newest Tom Bracket which offers better locking and a sleeker design.

True Pitch 50 Tension Rods

Time-tested True Pitch Tuning technology has been around for years. This new improved version offers added thread count giving drummers an expanded tuning range. At fifty threads per inch, these upgraded stainless steel tension rods provide ultra-smooth fine- tuning, allowing for less back-out. Offered on all DW Custom Shop Drums

Black Ice Finish Ply

This drum set is offered in Black Ice. This is a complex Black Sparkle finish with multiple fleck sizes and slight variances in the fleck colour. Its a very classy and slightly understated finish that just gives the kit a really nice pop.
