Now we have the Perfect Ply series drums which utilise the same high quality lug alongside various ply shell options to help make the drums more affordable. These are still pro level series drums in beautiful finishes and made with premium woods.

Bubinga 14 x 5.5, 5mm 6 ply Bubinga with Reinforcing Rings.

Bubinga is an extremely dense hardwood that resonates beautifully and produces a rich low end sound with a clear and cutting attack. The Hendrix 5mm thin shells give this snare a remarkable amount of sensitivity, with an increased tuning range and resonance. The maple reinforcement rings help focus the overtones and provide the thin shell with the strength it needs. The shell features a 45 degree inner cut with a slight outside round-over. The Perfect ply drums come with the Hendrix custom lugs, an INDe throw off and butt plate, FatCat snare wires, Remo heads, and stick-saving reverse flange hoops.

Bubinga has recently been listed as a protected wood species, so new drums coming to the market made from Bubinga are becoming very rare. Hendrix have taken the necessary steps to ensure that all of their Bubinga is legally harvested and registered so that they will be able to continue offering Bubinga drums for years to come.

The natural Bubinga shell is finished in a high gloss lacquer that really pops and brings out the beauty of this highly figured wood.
