Limited Edition UltraSonic Brass Snare
Here we have a very rare opportunity to get a Puresound Ultrasonic Brass Snare Drum. Around 200 drums in total were ever made in a range of Brass, Copper and Aluminium shells. This one is number 11 and has been kept in storage by one of the original Puresound distributors since 2004. The snare has never been played and is being made available for sale for the first time some nearly 19 years after production.
This Ultrasonic snare drum features the distinctive look and sound of an exclusive, high-grade brass shell with chrome-plated brass tube-lugs, heavy-gauge 2.3mm triple-flanged steel counter hoops, Puresound branded Remo Ambassador heads and Puresound's 20 strand snare wires. The vintage-style, rolled shells have a clear lacquer sealant over their polished brass exterior surface and are equipped with ultra-consistent, machine-formed bearing edges and snare beds.
Puresound president and founder Yoav DeBasc said in 2004 "The 'UltraSonic' snare drum was developed especially for serious players who want to add the drum's extraordinarily bright, dry, powerful and articulate sound, wide dynamic range and lightning-fast response to their snare drum collection."
According to DeBasc, only 200 of the custom-crafted "UltraSonic" snare drums would be made available to drummers through professional drumshops and dedicated drum departments. The drums had a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $995 (£869) and all included a soft, protective drum bag and a serialised badge
