We are very pleased to welcome Van Kleef to Drumazon. We are big fans of Alan's work. The look and sound of all his drums combined with his own 'made-in-house' snare mechanisms, lugs and even hoops make him a one of the truly great custom drum makers. Proudly all made 'in-house'in the UK, VK drums have found their way in to the collection of many professional drummers across the world because of their distinctive 'must have' sound.

MAGNESIUM SNARE

The magnesium snare has the look and feel of a vintage drum, but the ruggedness of a sports car or fighter aircraft. This drum is made from 2mm thick magesium, which is the best choice for that dry magnesium snare sound.

The Van Kleef magnesium shell has a unique sound that, combined with the resonant qualities of the magnesium shell and magnesium lugs range from dry, crisp tones at low tuning, to subtle, articulate tones at slightly higher tuning. The construction of these drums is another reason the drums sound so good.

The hoops are made from titanium, as are the throw, the butt, the badges, the Vkey and all of the fixing bolts and washers. This results in a sound like no other drum.

This Van Kleef drum has found it's way into the hands of many drummers including Steve White, Thomas Lang, Matt Cameron, Dre Boyd, Craig Blundell, Sean Moore, Matt Chamberlain, to name only a few.

  • 14 X 4.5 Shell finished in Black

  • AZ31B Magnesium for that unique VK magnesium sound.

  • Straight Sheffield titanium hoops, all made in-house.

  • Solid magnesium single point tube lugs, with aircraft grade aluminium tubes.

  • Magnesium lugs are brush finished on the sides and mirror polished on the front faces.

  • VK-007 Titanium strainer and butt

  • Titanium "VKey", silent ratchet drum key is designed to live inside the VK-007 strainer.

  • Titanium "VK Drums" badge and titanium internal laser marked dog tag.

  • Titanium bolts and washers.

  • Aircraft grade aluminium "Literods" tension rods, black anodised and cryo treated

  • Shell is joined with aluminium rivets.

  • Puresound wires.

  • Incredibly light weight - 2kg

  • Setup with VK Remo Ambassador heads
