Here we have a beautiful Jarrah Block shell snare drum. It's a 14 x 6.5 in natural satin with the trick throw off.
Brady's enviable reputation is based on the use of Australasian desert hardwoods which are harder than the familiar maple and birch of western drums. Block drums have a different sound from a ply drum in that a block drum has a very quick decay and thicker tone. The block snares are twice the thickness of the Brady ply snares.
The Jarrah block drums put Brady on the map in the early 90’s and their reputation continued to grow in to the 2000's. This is one of the later period drums and the last style of block shell snare offered before they ceased production.
