DW (DRUM WORKSHOP) COLLECTORS SERIES SSC 6 PIECE DRUM KIT, NATURAL SATIN OIL (PRE-LOVED)

Here we have a DW Collectors Series with a huge set of specifications! This stunning set is finished in Natural Satin Oil with Chrome fittings which just oozes class. This particular kit has a mix of DW's 'SSC' specialised shell configuration options featuring VLT, X and VLX shells which simply put, optimises the drum kits tuning range and frequency response per size and type of drum, another interesting specification is that the kit has no reinforcement rings which really opens the sound of the toms up.

The kit comes in an expansive array of sizes and includes two bass drums. Both Bass Drums have May AKG D112 microphones fitted, the 18 x 14 also has the DWCP9908 CR bass drum lifter factory fitted which gives you the option to sit the bass drum on the floor in the traditional manner or raise the bass drum off the floor to improve the beater striking position and sonic performance. Both bass drums also have the Slide Track BDM mounts giving you the option to mount both toms on either bass drum.

With a choice of 2 toms, two floor toms and two bass drums, the set up possibilities are endless here. There are options to use this kit as a huge monster set up or down to a really tight compact / jazz kit. Using the 18" bass drum with the lifter fitted as an aux bass drum was really fun to try!

Pure Maple Shell

The most popular wood for drum making, maple is a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, projection and attack. Combined with reinforcement hoops, it can produce a more focused sound and is well suited for live and studio applications.

Bearing edges for these drums are 45 degree, while the bass drum is 60 degree. All cuts are from the outer edge of the shell tapered toward the inside of the drums.

Timbre Matched

All of these shells underwent the DW Timbre-Matching process. Utilizing a digital tuner as part of DW's patented pitch identification procedure, each of these shells is stamped on its sweet spot with the shell's relative note-value.
