British Drum Company have launched a great deal of new drums and hardware during Winter NAMM 2020. Here we have the first details regarding the Nicko McBrain Icarus Drum Kit.

The Icarus is one of two Signature Series Snare Drums designed for Nicko McBrain. This drum kit is born out of the same idea and Nicko says he will use this drum set for alternative projects. His main kit for Iron Maiden will be his new BDC Legacy of the Beast kit unveiled in November 2019. The Icarus kit features similar detailing and finishing to the Icarus snare drum. The shell is the same as a standard Legend Series drum set with the exception of the Black Fish Tail Oak outer ply and dark oak inner ply which also features Buckingham Scarlett reinforcement rings. Whilst there is the option to order the set in replica Nicko Sizes, many drummers will be pleased to hear that they can order the Icarus in any configuration they choose - though we are a sure there will be many drummers just wanting the straight replica set and many who will welcome the option of deep and square sizes too which are becoming harder to find due to modern shorter depth trends.

The kit sports many unique touches such as accent red details and the Icarus wing badges. This kit has also been shown with the new Palladium Tom Holder Arms and Bass Drum Mount. This is a very welcome feature that will be available as an option on all BDC drum kits going forward.
