Here we have one of the latest Gretsch Renown RN2 drum kits. Across the years the Renown has always been a high quality, feature packed great sounding kit. In 2016 Gretsch released the RN2 face lift which now uses the 302 hoop, the very same hoop used on the Brooklyn and Broadkaster drums.

Renown still features the classic 7-ply Gretsch formula maple shells, with 30-degree bearing edges and exclusive “Silver Sealer” interiors. The Gretsch 302 hoops produce the desirable focused sound like that of a die cast hoop, but are lighter in weight and less rigid, allowing the drum to better “breath” and achieve maximum resonance. The RN2 Renown delivers the traditional Gretsch sound with an incredible open, harmonic tone that supplies the versatility needed to meet the demands of the hardest working drummers.

Renown looks as good as ever, with numerous appointments that are traditionally Gretsch, including a lightweight, off-the-shell mounting system, distinctively styled lugs, brackets, memory locks and bass drum spurs and the classic “T-Wing” screw. 

The one we have here is finished in Piano Black Lacquer. It's in immaculate condition, the original tom resonant heads are still fitted, we have replaced the batter heads with new Evans G2, the bass drum has a new EMAD batter head and a new EQ3 Gretsch branded display head. This kit is raring to go.
