GRETSCH USA CUSTOM 125TH ANNIVERSARY PROGRESSIVE JAZZ 4 PIECE DRUM KIT, CADILLAC GREEN, GOLD HARDWARE (PRE-LOVED)

Here we have a jaw dropping 125th Anniversary USA Custom. In 2008 Gretsch celebrated their 125th Anniversary and produced a series of limited edition drum kits to commemorate the event. Only 125 Gretsch Progressive Jazz kits were ever produced.

Gretsch's Progressive Jazz kit is modelled after the classic Gretsch Birdland kit from the 1950's. The Birdland kit was used by some of Gretsch's past master drummers most notably Max Roach, the set kept as the house kit at the renowned New York City jazz establishment. This kit features classic 6-ply USA Custom shells, the same shells Gretsch has been using since the late 1950's, and features gold-plated drum hardware. The kit comes in traditional jazz sizes, the 12 x 8 has a matching gold GTS mount and all drums have the famous Gretsch round badge and special 125th Anniversary paper tags inside each shell. The kit is finished in stunning Cadillac green with Gold Hardware, The bass drum hoops are inlayed with gold sparkle and have the vintage T-rods (also Gold Plated). Each Progressive Jazz kit contains a uniquely serialized vintage orange & white internal shell label, as well as a special 125th logo affixed over the paint - but underneath the lacquer - on the bass drum shell.

Condition:

Unfortunately (typical of this era) the Nitrocellulose lacquer has split over the top of the bass drum. There are 7 splits which can be felt to the touch (please see photos) These splits have not damaged the paint or the shell underneath, most of the kits from this run will suffer from this same issue. Otherwise this kit is in excellent condition, no damage to the finish, the Gold is immaculate with no signs of wear. The kit even has its original 125th Anniversary heads with only light signs of use on the snare drum head, the toms and bass drum heads are fresh. The previous owner told us that the kit was only ever used once and otherwise has been stored, the original Gold Drum key is also included.

PreLoved - 8/10 Condition - This would have been a 10 if not for the lacquer splits on the bass drum as mentioned above in the description. Still a beautiful kit with the incredible Gretsch sound & striking looks
