About Chris's Noble & Cooley Solid Shell Maple Snare Drum:

We present one of the most exclusive Noble & Cooley snares ever produced: the iconic and original design Solid Shell Maple, owned and made famous by Chris Whitten. For those unfamiliar, this snare is a unique, steam-bent solid shell maple drum, with brass hardware, single nodal point lugs, and furniture-grade finish.

Chris used this snare extensively on stage with Dire Straits and this is a drum which he has cherished and used both live and in the studio for over 30 years.

These snares were crafted from a single ply of New England Maple at the Noble & Cooley factory. Each drum features double reinforcement rings and a single nodal point for each lug. The original N&C die-cast hoops and brass tube lugs are still present and everything works perfectly.
