NOBLE & COOLEY WALNUT CLASSIC, 5 PIECE DRUM KIT, TRANSLUCENT BLUE LACQUER

This is one very exciting arrival. This is the first Noble & Cooley Walnut Classic drum set ever to be finished in Translucent Blue Gloss Lacquer. We asked N&C if they could do a Translucent Blue yet again they delivered! The deep Walnut Grain still comes through the colour beautifully and we think this is a great colour combination.

We decided to order this set in classic sizes. The tom sizes are 10 x 8, 12 x 8 and 13 x 9. The Floor is a 16 x 14 and the Bass Drum is an extremely punchy and sub heavy 22 x 14. Don't be fooled these drums are punchy, toney, they will tune high for a classic sound or down low for something incredibly meaty, the horizontal 6 ply Walnut shell delivers incredible tone and definition so whilst the kit looks compact with it's standard depth toms and 22 x 14 bass drum it can happily rock too. For Jazz, Funk, Pop and Acoustic styles this kit is an immediate winner, the walnut shells are incredibly comfortable with lighter strokes and maintain balance and tone throughout the dynamic range.

Over recent years we are finding lots of players wanting to get back to shallower bass drum sizes, there is certainly increased tonal and beater definition benefits which are often apparent when older Gretsch and Ludwig sets come through. For this set the first thing we decided to do was order a 22 x 14 and with this more classic and slightly larger tom configuration this kit is going to be incredibly articulate and versatile.

Just like the N&C Walnut ply and Solid Shell Classic snare drums, the Walnut Classic drum kits have a lot of low end and a darker vintage tone. Beefy, fat and surprisingly ambient. The Walnut Classic kits are built with the Witt Percussion all horizontal approach that N&C use use on their snare drums.
