Here we have a very early Pearl BLX (circa 1986-1989) finished in the very hard to find Charcoal Grey Metallic. This one has the earlier badges in the more centralised positions, lacquered interior shells and the first generation spurs and leg brackets.
Charcoal Grey has become a very in demand colour over the years due to its association with Jeff Porcaro who used an MLX in this colour during the late 80's through to early 90's period (famously seen in his starlicks video breaking down the Rosanna shuffle among other grooves). Not that many were made particularly not in BLX.
This one is not in the best condition, there are marks and scratches in some places down to the wood. The back hoop has been replaced on the bass drum with a Natural Maple hoop which is an authentic Pearl replacement. All the fittings are in good shape and fully original.
The finish is still bright and the metallic is still very vibrant. This could be a nice restoration opportunity.
