Here we have a rather rare version of the Chrome on Brass Rogers Dyna-sonic. During the 60's Boosey and Hawkes were building the Dyna-sonic in England under licence to Rogers. There are a few details that differ in terms of time scale and specification when compared to the US version but the drum is still equally good and possibly rarer than the US version. The UK edition of the dyna-sonic has a stamped serial number on the inside of the shell and is marked made in England, though many other component parts are still marked USA. This drum will be around 1965 - 1968 due to the Beavertail lug and short chrome logo badge which were both added later on in the run. B&H fitted the UK version of the Dynasonic throughout production with Tall Hoops (still fitted on this one) these were originally designed for calf skin heads which stretched down. Rogers in the US phased this specification out as plastic heads became more popular but the spec remained the same throughout production in the UK.

Like the USA drum The Dyna-Sonic is a versatile drum, with incredible responsiveness. At the time it was also considered highly innovative with the snare cradle system. Speak to any Dyna-Sonic fans and they will tell you that the performance and the quality was consistent throughout the build period in both the USA and UK. The USA drums production spanned from the 60’s through to the early 80’s whilst the B&H drums ran we believe between 1961 through to 1968. This version features the Scripted Rogers badge on the front with the Custom Built Dyna-Sonic Badge on the reverse. This drum is now suffering from extreme pitting, this does seem to be more typical on the UK drums too. That said everything is completely original and fully working, the drums sounds fantastic too! It's hard to judge just how collectable these may become as more is becoming known about them, but it certainly will be a great players condition drum too that will continue to deliver that unmistakable Dyna-Sonic sound!
