Here we have one of the new addition Recording Custom series snare drums designed in conjunction with the legendary Steve Gadd. Using Steve’s valuable input to its maximum this new breed of R.C. snares offer superb consistency, great feel and beautiful design.

You’ll also enjoy its wide dynamic range, making it a versatile snare drum suitable for all genres of music and drumming styles.
Traditionally, Yamaha snare drums usually have a metal centre bead on the interior drum but on the newly designed Recording Custom snare drum, Yamaha have fixed the centre bead to the outside of the drum.
Centre Bead
After repeated evaluations of Yamaha's design by Steve Gadd, they created a groundbreaking snare drum. To date, Yamaha’s snare drums have traditionally had the metal centre bead on the interior of the drum. However, for the new RC, Yamaha have taken the step of fixing the centre bead to the outside of the drum to produces a more open, crisp and articulate sound.
Q-Type Strainer
The heavy-duty Q-type strainer is robust whilst offering solid, stable and smooth operation, along with adjustment and snare replacement.
